Day 2

The weather was awesome today! We left Round Lake this morning at about 7am and headed to Coeur d'Alene for breakfast. We continued riding south through Moscow, Idaho and on to Washington and to Hell's Gate, Oregon. During our ride, we met up with fellow bikers at Joseph Canyon, Idaho who told us of the scenic byway through Oregon. It was full of twisty, foot peg dragging corners for 82 miles. Mike was exhausted when we finally got through to a straight stretch of highway into Prairie City, Oregon. We have set up camp and met another fellow biker with cold beer. Now we are at the local saloon having an awesome prime rib dinner and more beers. Tomorrow we will try to get to Bend, Oregon and beyond. Hopefully to Crater Lake.

Stopped at a local fruit stand for some fresh peaches and plums. We thought the California Red Woods were huge until we rode through the Sequoia National forest. Unbelievable!!! From there we rode through Yosemite National Park. Waterfalls and huge mountains were amazing. Snow still at the summit and the temp dropped to 8 degrees. The sudden changes in temperature is hard to get used to. Mike looked at the map and realizes that we are a LONG way from home so we rode until 10:30 tonight. Long after dark down here. Good thing I was watching the signs or we would be in Reno by now. Lol. GPS led us astray for the first time. Tomorrow will be another long ride if we ever ...
